Transition Tots

C-Me Swim

At C-ME Swim we recognise that moving from our baby classes to our level one learn to swim can be a delicate time for both the child and parents.  Transition Tots  allows our staff to build a positive, trusting relationship with your child as they transition into our Level One Learn to Swim.  Parents/Guardians are beginning to slowly transition out of the water during this program.

CLASS SIZE = 4

Central to our Transition Tots program is the belief that all children come into this world with a passion for relationships, activity, exploration and discovery. As aquatic educators our role is to facilitate the development of each child’s unique skills. We provide opportunities that enable each child to reach his/her full potential in swimming.  In order for babies and toddlers to grow and develop to their full potential they need to develop trust in themselves and others.  Our staff at C-Me Swim are committed to meeting the needs of all students through building responsive and caring relationships.

In Transition Tots children are given opportunities to play and to explore the aquatic environment without the fear of harm, under the guidance of respectful staff who are willing collaborators in their aquatic development.

WHAT MAKES OUR TRANSITION TOTS CLASSES SHINE?

PARENTS WITH PATIENCE

The success of our Transition Tots program requires patience, trust and understanding from our parents who may still be working in the water with our staff.  Remember the learning s in this stage of development is often about more than just the physical skills.  This is often where a child will demonstrate their emotional and social development.  Learning to sit, listen, share, wait are all HUGE understandings for our little swimmers to grasp. They’ll need our help to do this.

LESSON FLEXIBILITY

We pride ourselves on recognising the different learning styles of all our swimmers.  Because of this and the need for our Tots to self discover and explore the water, our Transition Tots classes will vary from class to class. Group dynamics, physical, social and emotional development together with varying teaching styles will all influence the routine and pedagogy of each lesson.

There is no one recipe for teaching children to swim.
